History
Since its conception in 1893 as Gilchrist brothers, the company has in time evolved from a traditional graphic reproductions company to a highly respected and leading global brand management organisation.
Throughout our trading history Gilchrist have been at the forefront of colour management for packaging and publishing and were the first to support the retail industry with digital artwork and reproduction.
Key milestones in our modern revolution:
- 1984 - The creation of a digital artwork studio, the first of its kind within a reprographics business.
- 1998 - Gilchrist introduces its own dedicated creative design studio, also an industry first.
- 1999 - As the millennium approached Gilchrist was acquired by Envoy Communications Group.
- 2000 - The company grows with the addition of new key areas of expertise – Packaging Technology Development and Legal Packaging Copy. Gilchrist also acquires Parker Williams, a London based strategic design agency.
- 2006 - Gilchrist was acquired by Sun Chemical Inc. Aligning perfectly with our business, this acquisition meets our needs for continual growth and investment.
- 2008 - The company rebrands to reflect our ownership, becoming Sun Branding Solutions.
